What is Surfshare?
SurfShare is an experimental, consumer friendly service offering new ways for readers to support the work of bloggers and news publishers.
What payment options does Surfshare offer?
- Tips - contribute small amounts (from 25 cents to $5.00) if you like a post or story
- Contributions - donate additional funds (from $5 to $100.00) if you regularly visit a site and want to help sustain it.
- Surfshare micropayments - authorize a site and Surfshare will bill you regularly at the rate of a penny a story (based on unique stories, not repeat visits)
When will you be billed?
Typically, you will be billed at the end of each billing cycle if your balance exceeds $5.00. However, in our initial testing stages, we may wait until 2010 to begin billing.
How is Surfshare consumer friendly?
You are in complete control:
- You can cancel tips, contributions and payments any time up until you pay your monthly bill
- Soon, we expect to add additional privacy features which will help you review your account, turn off tracking and even delete it if you choose.
